I updated the directx and fixed the crackling sound
Its never crashed in game on me but has crashed if you just let it run and dont play

It runs on very low grade hardware I was able to run it and screen cap these vids on my Emachines laptop
1.6Ghz single core Athlon 64
Integrated HD 3200 GPU with 256MB shared RAM

Pretty sweet. Id like to find a PDF of that so I can add the moves to the cheat database. Way more ultimates than I have now.

Ive gotten a lot more work done on porting my KIxxx XBOX emulator to PC. I updated the U64 src with the XBOX fixes and updated the DX to 9 from 7/8 where I could (sound still uses Dsound 8.1) I also updated the DIrect Input code to include Xinput support. The control issues seen on RCP 3.11 have also been fixed. All thats left is porting over the interface and audit system and including the move/cheat system

I would have to say yes depending on what version of the KI ROM you have. There were a lot of weird bugs in KI arcade like the Combo BJ, no touch ultras, 3 hit ultras etc. And especially now days it would be hard to seperate whats an actual U64/KI bug and whats caused by a mistake in an emulator since people with the actual working cab is pretty rare.

Well as I promised when I released the KIxxx1.2 emu for XBOX Im now working on one for PC. This is going to be a direct port of my XBOX emulator so will have very low sys reqs and pretty much kick ass ;D The code optimization and response I got from the XBOX community convinced me there is no need for anything beyond some crappy IBM business refurb you picked up at Staples to run it.
So anybody who wants something better than what MAME currently offers us ie the classic U64 true arcade 1 to 1 experience put your hat in now for beta testing. Im planning on compiling a preliminary test build with no frills by the end of February and hope to have a proper BETA by end of March (sooner if I can manage it)

Happy to do it. I love KI, it and Resident Evil are the greatest games from my childhood. Im, after a break, gonna look at changing the system calls and releasing a PC version. All source code is also available on the Development page on my site for anybody who may want to see whats what or do some tweaking of their own. It includes my XBOX src and the latest PC src I could find (I think it is the latest released PC src-pretty plugged in on the homebrew scene :) )

Ive finished the updates for the U64 emulator for original XBOX. Fatalities are fixed, speed is 90% fixed (KI runs flawless KI2 some levels are not 60fps) the GUI has been tweaked and reskined. Full arcade support including arcade controls and audit system. Full moves list plus cheats (thanks guys without your database of moves I doubt I could have ever updated the moves from SNES/N64 to proper arcade) Size is what it is because I included a 240P dashboard preview video and a 480P dashboard preview video. To use the 480P video simply delete preview.wmv and rename KI preview.wmv to preview.wmv

Killer Instinct 2 (1996) / Re: KI2 In KIxxx Emulator

I remember U64's cut scenes always going way too fast. It looks like that is fixed judging by the video. KI2 was always kind of wonky on U64, I preferred MAME but even that wasn't perfect.

You should have seen KI2 in the past 4 versions of U64 for XBOX. Loads of glitches and running off ancient source code. I cant find any PC version source code newer than 2004 and the code for the compiler was written in 1999 and hasnt been touched since. Suffice to say playing was like trying to stream a movie on dialup ;D

Where is your dl for you version
Like it says in the description this is my first release to testers. You need a debug original XBOX and have it hooked to a PC with either XBOX Dev Kit v5849 or v5993 installed on it. The RAM usage and CPU calls have to be recorded along with a memory and pagefile dump. And it wont even run on a retail BIOS XBOX, debug only.

I always used U64 and it was kind of good, but would crash randomly.
MAME is not perfect but does not crash.
On PC MAME all the way. On XBOX though MAME and KI dont really work so well. And Im only doing it for in my cabs (release the emu publicly of course) so I much prefer the idea of being as close to original as possible. Ive got the full arcade audit and system menu in it, can even still make it only run if you put in a quarter ;D

Ive done more work on the U64 emulator port for original XBOX and now have the FPS almost accurate. On the old edition you were lucky to get 40FPS on basic screens like Kim Wu, and 25-30FPS on levels like Jago or Spinal.

Most levels are now up to 60FPS and ones that arent run 50+ FPS (Jago and Spinal low 50s)
<a href="" target="_blank"></a>

I play more KI1 so suck pretty bad at KI2 ;D Ive released the BETA to testers over at EmuXtras and hope to get every level up to constant 55-60FPS and have a public release in a month or so

And thiese are direct ports of the arcade with full dip support (gonna use them in my cabs since my boards are fragged)
