Post by: shakur123 on September 09, 2013, 06:25:19 PM
Hi guys, im so freaking happy i just bought a ki1 cabinet, it doesnt have the board, it needs a lot of work, and sadly it was expensive. But i dont care, here in mexico this things are pretty much extint and theyre sooo expensive but i manage to get one. Im on the hunt for a ki1 or ki2 board.

This guy is selling another ki1 and ki2 cabinet, so if anyone is from mexico check it out in mercadolibre.com.mx (http://mercadolibre.com.mx), of course i got the best one ;D

Maybe i upload some pictures later. I let you know when i got ready for start the restoring process i hope i can get your feedback, help and of course your comments.

Wow that is expensive from what I saw on the site.  I've been looking for one but I'm not going into Mexico for it lol.  I've found a good looking one but its half way across the continent from me.  I have a truck and access to a trailer.  But the cost to get there pulling a heavy trailer plus the $800 for the game and a couple nights in hotels...I dont think thats happening.  I'll just keep searching my local area and hope.

You have a hell of a project on hands, I look forward to seeing your progress. I use http://www.gameongrafix.com/ for my additional arcade art related supplies. All that wood can be fixed with some bondo and sandpaper.

Here are some of the advances:

1)Put the board (works great)
(http://s6.postimg.org/5r49a1yal/IMG_20150112_222732184.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/5r49a1yal/)

2)Adapt new coin mechs until i get my hands on a original set
(http://s6.postimg.org/vy5g60gkd/IMG_20150124_161003304.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/vy5g60gkd/)

3)Put new vinyl stickers (nintendo logo and ki logo under buttons)
(http://s6.postimg.org/t531ui1gd/IMG_20150112_WA0013.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/t531ui1gd/)

4)Put some new buttons

I will say that the machine is 95% complete it just needs, new marquee, new side art, original coin mechs and thats it. I hope in the next months you get a picture of 100% restoration.

Looks fantastic, wish I had it. Live in uk and most of the KI machines if you find them are over priced and knackered.
Well Jel,  :)

Looking sharp, I just put on a new control panel overlay and plexi glass myself. I have a small area I need to bondo and slide in my NOS marquee.
