I just thought I'd post this here to remember the old community.

It was opened in 2006, I remember thinking "No one will join" but the first day there were members signing up and posting.  By the second month we had over 350 members and continued to grow.

Fun facts: (these numbers do not include the main site)
Final current registered member count: 11,355
The total count of accounts created over the years: Over 20,000
Total posts made: 35,227
Total topics:3,174
Most users online at once: 111 (This forum has already passed that record!)
Total page views for the forum: 5,247,561

Thank you to all of the founding members.  When I say I didnt believe the site would amount to anything I mean it.  I made it one day at work just because I couldnt find a good KI site.  I made the best site I could with my skills, which were a little HTML knowledge from Myspace profiles (lol).  I'm amazed that its turned into something that thousands of unique visitors daily.  I met a lot of great KI fans and made some friends during the process.  Hopefully activity will only rise and these numbers will look small compared to what is coming.  I feel like we kept Killer Instinct alive for the huge gap between releases.  Even when it looked like we would never see another Killer Instinct you all still came by and talked about a game we all love.  We've got roughly five months until we get the new KI and I couldnt be more excited.

I should mention this.  Deciding to delete the old forum in favor of a new was not an easy one.  If I had been given more time by my host and not had a new KI announced I might have tried to transfer it.  Another issue was the site was under constant attack from spam bots.  These bots caused me to put annoying restrictions on new members to protect everyone else.  Some other strange issues had come up, the forum had started to slow down and the years of modifications and theme changes had left holes in the software.  The newest version of this forum gives me so many new options which will be helpful when it comes to updating and adding features.

Thanks again to old users and new!

I'll attach some pictures of the stats page and forum for memories.

Looking at those last two images it looks like the site's been dying down since 2011. I wonder what this place would have looked like a couple years down the line if KI3 was never announced...

don't say that. >:( we all would know what would happen. but that's besides the point. the fact about te old forum is that alot of KIO members left and came back with or without KI3.

I was on here once, and came by for any new news as a guest.  The U64 used to be here.  Kind wish I still had it.  After so long, I never thought there would be an other.

I'm going to spend $500 on one game.

Am I stupid? NO.  Am I being stupid? Oh, yes.  I can not even find an other reason to buy the X1.  But, I bought the 360 hoping for a new KI.  And, to be honest, I kinda like were DH is going.

Now, we need the new KI into song as a ring tone! :D

Thanks for keeping the only fan site around anymore alive, and I'm gonna but in on every post that I have something to say in.
