the expectations for ki3 are way too high the new mk will be the first m rated fighting game in a long time they may wait to see how wb does sales wise before commiting to an m rated fighting game.
and i know everyone here just loves the shit out of ki but mk players and fans out number ki fans
im not saying i have given up all hope but come on it looks really bleak
i was on b/ and a programmer that quit rare recently was taking questions and the first thing i asked was if work on ki3 began at any point and the answer was a flat out NO they didnt want to make a sequel
it may be possible that they just dont want to or they may not even own the rights to the game nintendo blocked golden eye from the xbox arcade just by threatening activison about future games and without knowing the actual day to day workings of the company they may have tried but been stopped
im rambling now fuck it as long as we have the first games we should be happy if it happens it happens but its been 15 years what are the chances

They will test the waters first with ports on XBLA and gage sales off that, with the resurgence of fighting games (makes me happy even if I am tired of fighting Shoto's in SSFIV) there is no logical reason for them not to get back into that segment of the market.

Well DK is a Nintendo IP so Rare developed the game and Nintendo published it which is why they can give it to retro. Rare owns (not sure if they still do TBH but with all the teasing they have done I believe they still do) Killer Instinct and developed it and had Nintendo publish it (along with Midway for the arcade versions) on all the various platforms. |

I agree. I don't understand why they wouldnt make any sort of announcement or give out any info on a game coming out that soon BUT if it is true I surely hope it's not 360 exclusive. |

this is highly doubtful if it comes out in early 2011 why would microsoft not hype the fuck out of it?
if they want to compete with the new mortal kombat they would need to have shown it at e3
